Canoeing at Trentham - October 2008
On 22nd October, the day before the half term holiday, Mr Manifold and Mr Hulmes took two groups of children out canoeing. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm, much warmer than many days we've had during the summer. This was the second canoeing day this year for the school using the 12-seat bellboats. This time we took two mixed groups of year 3, 4, 5 and 6 children.

 Where's the ball?
The bellboats were so stable we could stand up and even walk around on them. We passed a ball along the rows over heads and between legs although Matthew had problems with this. |

 Alex helming the bellboat
We went on a journey to the top of the lake by the Monkey forest and took turns helming the boat.

 An encounter with a crocodile
We did a bit of 'wildlife' watching on the islands in the middle of the lake. Mr Manifold told the children to watch out for the bear and we saw a crocodile on a log. Opinion was divided as to whether it was real or not!
